Wausau East High School Class of 1977

FLASHBACK! This grainy video clip was taken at the old Wausau East High School in 1975. The school's athletic department had just replaced the 16mm film camera with a (then) cutting edge black and white, reel-to-reel video tape machine (before the advent of VHS). This bulky contraption was the size of a large suitcase and weighed close to 50-pounds. Anyway, it was primarily used for recording varsity basketball games but the student managers occasionally got it out for much less serious reasons. The video quality on this clip may suck... but so does their lampoon of the backwoods TV variety show "Hee Haw!" This clip stars future Wausau East High grads Rick Davis, Ken Morris, Jay Johnson and Ivan Miller. (Apparently the "Hee Haw Honey" segment featuring cuties Laurie Brumblay and Joy Holster became victim to the cutting room floor.)
This segment was shot in the old East basketball varsity locker-room which was raised in 2005 with much of the rest of the school. (They should have buried this tape with it!)
Hey, it may be inane... but so was high school.
