i find it next to impossible to bowl a googy- it comes out as leg spin !!! Even when i rotate my wrist, any tips please ??

Make sure ur wrist is facing the batsman at point of realease otherwise it will just come out as a leg break or even top spinner.

I find it very difficult to bowl a googly. I change my wrist position at delivery but the bowl lands as a leg spinner !! Any tips ? Do you have to change your grip for a googly ?

I find variations for leg spin very easy.
For the googly just flick ur wrist at release of the ball and it should spin the other way. also to help your game tyr to develop a arm ball or a delivery that goes straight on by holding the ball like a seam bowler.

This is a very good video. Watch and learn. Terry Jenner is probably the best coach of spin bowling on the planet. He even taught Shane Warne a trick or two.

I'm a self taught spinner, I played Cricket for a team for a few years before stopping due to traveling reasons about 2 years ago, I gripped the ball like that always, I found that the easiest way to get a ball to spin. I'm right handed and release the ball spinning my wrist to the left, from my perspective I'm spinning anti clockwise, I recently looked up, Leg Spin how to's they basically tell me to do what I was doing, but I get reverse spin, I spin into the batsman rather than away, why?

you need to let the ball go so your hand is facing you after the release.also try to spin the ball harder rather than flicking it as it may be coming out like an underspinner.

So my hand is facing me? It comes out like a good Googly no matter what I seem to do, I thought I might have been releasing to late, while spinning the wrist too much, I tried releasing earlier and angeling at different degrees but they all just came out with different amounts of movement and different flight, hey were all stil Googly style.

I am also a selftaught wrist spinner say that because i'm a left hande bowler and i've never played club cricket ever and i showed off my leg breaks to my people at my school at an indoor cricket championship and thay were really impressed with my spin and then on my school mates have bugged me into playing cricket but i've told again again i'm not playing cricket untill all of my skills are by my standards now that they are i'm looking for a cricket club ps i've no thumbs
